HTTP Authentication

If a website is private and can only be accessed through HTTP Authentication, you can use this feature to test that page.

IMPORTANT

This feature only works on pages protected by HTTP Authentication and not just any other form of authentication or login page. To understand what HTTP Authentication actually looks like, you can visit this page.

For other forms of authentication, you can use Cookie-based login.

You can access the HTTP Authentication fields by clicking the ⚙️ More Options Button on the test page.

Once, you've entered the username and password, click Apply and perform the test.

If the provided details are correct and authentication is successful, ⚡️ SpeedVitals will begin measuring the performance of that page.

caution

For security purpose, the HTTP Authentication details will not be stored in our database and you'll have to enter the username/password for every test. The authentication details will also get stripped from the report page.
